The lawyer of the former vice-president of the EP Eva Kaili, through a statement sent to the Greek media, denies that money was transferred to the MEP from Qatar to a bank account in Panama.

Lawyer Michalis Dimitrakopoulos refers to the announcement of Bladex Bank dated December 21, which he says "refutes the defamatory articles in the media about the remittances from Qatar to Eva Kaili" and adds that the bank, after the investigation, "confirms that there is no direct or indirect connection of any kind" what kind with the persons who are interrogated in the specific case, including Kaili".

It is certain that in the near future it will be proven that the money found in the shared apartment with her partner is not hers and has nothing to do with Mrs. Kaili's political activity, writes Dimitrakopoulos in a statement published by the Greek media.

The media in Greece write that the head of the Greek Money Laundering Authority, Haralambos Vourliotis, sent an urgent document to Panama, with a request to be informed if remittances of 20 million euros were transferred from Qatar to accounts that probably belong to Kaili and her partner Giorgi.
