Adidas is investigating a case of corruption in China, estimated at hundreds of millions of euros!

The German manufacturer of sports equipment "Adidas" is investigating a major scandal with alleged corruption in China, which is estimated at several hundred million euros, and the suspects are local employees of the group, reported the British newspaper "Financial Times", N1 Serbia reports.

The letter, purportedly written by "adidas employees in China," names several Chinese employees, including the CEO, in the company's marketing budget department. In the document, which circulated on the Chinese social network in June, 250 million euros were embezzled for corruption.

The British newspaper says the document accuses Adidas staff of accepting bribes from service providers authorized by the German group. An Adidas manager in China is accused of receiving "millions in cash from suppliers as well as assets, including real estate." Adidas, which debuted in China in 1997, once had more than 10.000 stores, according to local media. However, Adidas has faced increasing influence from local brands in recent years, including Anta and Li Ning.
