Abdijiku: Kurti opens irrelevant topics to cover his incompetence
The leader of the opposition Democratic Union of Kosovo (LDK), Gjumir Abdidziku refuses to comment on the issue that the Kosovar public is dealing with these days, whether the administrative instruction banning the wearing of headscarves in schools should be abolished, the MIA correspondent from Pristina reported.
In a response to the "Gazeta Express" portal, Abdijiku says that the topic is irrelevant and was manufactured by the government itself to cover the incompetence of Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
"I do not intend to deal with irrelevant topics that are produced by the government itself to cover Kurti's governing incompetence," said Abdijiku.
He says that his party is focused on other issues that are important for the citizens and the state.
"As LDK, we are concerned about the alarming increase in prices of 14,2 percent in one year. We are worried about the big energy crisis this coming winter and the inaction of the Government regarding that crisis. We are worried about the investment blockade in Kosovo and the lack of capital projects like never before - there are whole ministries with zero percent realization. We are concerned about the alarming neglect of healthcare and the failure to supply hospitals with basic medicines. "These are the concerns of our citizens and we will keep our political discourse here," said Abdijiku.
Prime Minister Kurti said today that in Kosovo there should not be a ban on headscarves and other religious elements in the public life of citizens, but that the threshold for that should be 16 years.
There is an ongoing debate in the Kosovo public about whether girls and boys should be allowed to wear headscarves at school, and a large campaign has been launched in social networks with the request to abolish the administrative decision that is in force and which prohibits it.
