Abbas: US veto makes Americans complicit in war crimes in Gaza
Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said the US veto of a UN Security Council resolution calling for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza made the Americans complicit in "war crimes against the Palestinians".
President Abbas described the US position as aggressive and immoral, as a flagrant violation of all humanitarian principles and values, and held the US responsible for the bloodshed of Palestinian children, women and the elderly in the Gaza Strip, Abbas' office said.
Abbas considers the US move to be an American "shameful policy that supports Israeli occupation and brutal aggression."
That American policy makes them complicit in the crimes of genocide, ethnic cleansing and war crimes committed by the Israeli occupying forces against the Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem, Abbas emphasized.
He warned that such policies have become dangerous for the world and represent a threat to international peace and security, and emphasized that the Palestinian authorities will take a firm stand in response to the developments.
