An 18-year-old pilot broke the Guinness World Record and became the youngest teenager to fly around the world alone in a single-engine plane, writes "BBC".

Travis Ludlow, of Aibston, Buckinghamshire, landed in the Netherlands on Tuesday after spending 44 days completing a journey of 24,900 miles (40.072 km).

At 18, he was 13 days younger than the previous record holder. Young Ludlow says it is a "strange feeling".

"It feels weird - here I am, I've arrived and I have nothing to worry about tomorrow - it 's weird," said the young pilot.

Ladlow started flying at just 12 years old and became the youngest glider pilot in the UK at 14 years old.

His 2001 Cessna 172R flew through Europe, Russia and the Americas before returning to Canada, Greenland and Iceland. The planned trip consisted of 60 stops across nine countries.
