Police have arrested 26-year-old Luigi Mangione in connection with the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Investigators found 26-year-old Luigi Mangione of central Pennsylvania with a firearm similar to the one used in last week's shooting in New York, sources told NBC.

The mayor of New York, Eric Adams, previously informed that the suspect in the murder of the CEO of United Health (United Health), Brian Thompson, has been identified, the New York Post reported.

Adams said the investigation is progressing, but declined to release the suspect's name.

Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, the largest health care company in the United States, was shot and killed last week in what police said was a "brazen and targeted attack" outside a Manhattan hotel where the health insurance company was holding an investor conference.
