Rap icon Tupac Shakur will posthumously receive a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame, 26 years after his a mysterious murder.

"Tupac Shakur was a rapper, actor, activist, poet and revolutionary," event producer Ana Martinez said in a statement.

"The legendary artist is relevant decades after his death and will continue to be an important figure in culture for many years to come," she added, CBS News reports.

The legendary rapper will be honored during a ceremony scheduled for June 7, when his star will be discovered.

Sekiva Shakur, sister of the famous rapper, will receive the honor on his behalf, and the ceremony will be hosted by radio host from Los Angeles, Big Boy.
