A 22-year-old man from Prilep who died of covid-19 was not vaccinated and had diabetes
The young man from Prilep who died today from covid-19 had diabetes, received insulin and was not vaccinated, said the Ministry of Health.
"According to the information from the institutions where he was treated, the 22-year-old patient was transferred to the City General Hospital (CGH) 'September 8' from Prilep Hospital with severe ketoacytosis, pH value 6.8, with very high glycemia and high temperature of 39 degrees. The patient had type XNUMX diabetes and was on insulin therapy. From the examination of the patient's history and the contact with the doctors who followed him, there is information that he used insulin irregularly and did not go for control examinations. "On receiving an X-ray, he was diagnosed with bilateral bronchopneumonia, and during his hospital stay he had tachycardia," said the Ministry of Health.
The 22-year-old from Prilep is among a total of 22 dead in the past 24 hours, six of whom were fully vaccinated. Another 1.861 newly infected patients were registered of 5.446 tests, of which 242 are reinfections, one of which is a second reinfection.
