Slovakia and Hungary doubt the offer to transport oil from "unreliable Croatia"

Last week, Budapest and Bratislava filed a complaint with the EC over Ukraine's decision to halt the transit of crude oil essential to the security of the two countries' oil supplies.

Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic reported on Thursday that he had sent letters to the Commission, to Hungary and to Slovakia and expressed Janaf's readiness to transport oil to the two countries in a capacity of more than 14 million tons. However, the Slovak minister reiterated on Friday that Bratislava wants the European Commission to influence Ukraine to fully restore the flow of oil from Russia.

Sijarto criticized Croatia on Facebook for being "untrustworthy" because, he claims, since the start of the war in Ukraine, it has raised the oil transit fee to five times the average market fee, prevented MOL from arranging long-term delivery and not made the necessary investments to increase capacities. Afterwards, Adriatic Pipeline (JANAF) rejected all his claims as untrue in a press release and emphasized that it "can fully meet the crude oil needs of MOL Group's refineries in Bratislava and Budapest".

According to Szijjártó, the vice president of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, sent a letter to him and Blanar on Thursday saying that "Ukraine does not threaten the supply of Hungary or Slovakia, and besides, there is another oil pipeline going through Croatia that they can use." . Evaluating the letter as "obscene", Szijjártó said that the letter of the executive vice-president "proves once again that Ukrainians can do whatever they want to EU member states, especially if they are for peace and do not deliver weapons", H1 reports.
