13.000 people in the country became poor last year
Inflation and the energy crisis pushed another 13.000 people below the poverty line in the country, of which 5.000 are children.
- The data show that children are affected more percentageally. The poverty threshold for a family of four is around 18.000 denars, said Prof. Marjan Petreski, presenting the results of the Finance Think research, supported by UNICEF, Effects of the food and energy crisis on children and families.
Petreski said that the crisis is not over and that according to estimates this year another 4.000 people will be in the group below the poverty line.
