10 years since the death of the legendary singer: Goce Arnaudov died on this day

On December 6, 2011, Goce Arnaudov, the legendary Macedonian singer of folk music, died. Arnaudov died at a hospital in France where he was being treated for a serious illness, failing to win the battle with cancer.

He was remembered for the beautiful songs interpreted in his unique way and in a special style. And 10 years after his death, the audience remembers his greatest hits.

Goce Arnaudov was born in Strumica. At the age of 10 he started playing the guitar and singing in his father's band.

After graduating from high school, he formed the group "Creek", with which he represented throughout the former Yugoslavia. He returned to Macedonia in 1993, and in 1994 at the "Folk Fest - Valandovo" he won all the awards with the song "Are you waiting for an old mother".

Arnaudov caused euphoria wherever he participated, and at all festivals he won significant awards.

For five years he was declared the most popular person in Macedonia, and his participation in the "Folk Fest Valandovo" brought him 22 awards. He has received the award for interpretation of the greatest singer "Nikola Badev" several times at the festival "Goce Fest".

He regularly toured Europe, America and Australia.

He will be remembered for the songs "Oh, if the song was an arrow", "Are you waiting for an old mother", "I will drink, I will drink", "Master play", "Full of meandering"… Arnaudov was born in Strumica on August 19, 1959.

In 2000, in his hometown of Strumica, Arnaudov gave a concert at the stadium and gathered 10.000 spectators, and the district administration awarded him the prize of singer of the decade and honorary citizen.
